En LAUNCH X-431 Key Programmer is a USB-connected transponder and remote-generation module designed to work through compatible LAUNCH X-431 diagnostic / IMMO software.
It is not a standalone tool. A supported X-431 tablet with the Key Programmer module available in its software is required.
Compatibility must be considered at three different levels:
1. X-431 Host Compatibility · whether the diagnostic tablet supports the Key Programmer.
2. Key / Chip Compatibility · whether the selected LAUNCH universal key or transponder supports the required chip architecture.
3. Vehicle IMMO Compatibility · whether the connected X-431 tablet supports key learning / matching for the exact vehicle.

Read the original key / chip information, detect frequency and generate the compatible LAUNCH remote / transponder.
STEP 2 · VEHICLE IMMO SOFTWARE
Register / learn the newly generated key to the vehicle using the appropriate anti-theft / immobilizer function of the compatible X-431 diagnostic or IMMO tablet.
KEY PROGRAMMER ≠ X-PROG3
En X-431 Key Programmer is designed for key / remote generation, transponder reading and related detection functions.
Advanced EEPROM / MCU reading, ECU data operations, BMW CAS / FEM / BDC work, VAG immobilizer data and other advanced anti-theft programming functions may require X-PROG3 or another compatible LAUNCH IMMO programmer.

Verify these five items:
1. Your X-431 tablet is listed as Key Programmer compatible.
2. The Key Programmer module is available / activated in the tablet software.
3. The exact vehicle exists in the Vehicle Remote database.
4. The selected LAUNCH key supports the required chip / remote architecture.
5. Your X-431 diagnostic / IMMO software supports the required vehicle key-learning procedure.
